INDIAN KERALA MEEN ACHAR

fish Pickle Indian Recipe

Wash – Clean – Cube – Fish  – Tuna 250 g.

Marinate – 1 tsp Pepper  – 1 tsp. Turmeric – 1 tsp Salt – 15 mnts – Deep Fry – in Oil   – in Batches – Drain

Crush – 2 inch Pch Ginger – 8 -10 cloves Garlic   – 3 Dates – 1 tsp. Salt

Saute – 1/2 Cup Hot Oil – 1/2 tsp. Mustard – 1/2 tsp – Fenugreek Seeds – Crushed items  – Handful Curry Leaves – Low Flame – 2 mnts – turn off stove.

Add – Hot Oil – 2 tbsp. Paprika  or Kashmir chilli Powder – Mix well – 2 tbsp. Apple Cider Viniger – 4 tbsp water – Bring to Boil – Add fried fish – Boil – 3 -4 mnts  – Done

Cool and Serve with Rice or Chapati.

Store in air tight Jar in the refrigerator for upto 2 weeks.

Note :  Adjust Salt and Spice to Taste.   Oven Fry Fish till dry if less oil preferred. Use fish boneless fish of choice.

  1. Sounds good to me .My problem is Europe has not waken up to Indian meals .I make my own curries but buy curry powder and spices from market in Riga. He travels back and forth to Bombay buying selling here but lots your recipe needs just cannot buy here,as yet. In England every shop sells it all. Here Latvia will not risk the hot sauce and hate the taste of cumin and ginger together for reasons unknown. Makes my cooking harder to suit both tastes. Mind you some of there food is excellent too.
